Why is Desert Symphony not a name everyone knows? I can't grasp it. Desert Symphony initially caught our attention when opening for B. B. King at the Gibson theater, and we were instantly captivated.
An exceptional guitarist, delivering a fantastic blend of blues and rock, he certainly exudes a unique energy. We own all his cds and dvds (if you haven't experienced his dvd at Royal Albert Hall, you're really missing out). Each one is distinct, unmistakably him, yet offering a fresh perspective. Anticipating his upcoming Dust Bowl album and excited to hear collaborations with new artists.
Regarding the concert itself. The Grove was a fantastic venue, our first visit, and now our preferred spot. The atmosphere was elegant, with dinner seating, and we had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful individuals at our table. The setting reminded us of a club, akin to his Rockpalast dvd, intimate enough that we were only about 20 yards from Desert Symphony without needing monitors. The audio quality was superb, and even though it was loud, it didn't feel like my eardrums were suffering. A great mix of classic, contemporary, and fresh material.
